This digital archive is by and for Manitos, the Indo-Hispano people native to northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. Manitos represent one of the oldest Indigenous land-based cultures in the United States. We are heirs to rich histories, traditions, and wisdom. Yet today this cultural heritage is at risk of being lost. The Manitos Digital Archive is a collective effort to reconnect those whose lives have been separated sometimes for generations by migration and to restore a full sense of identity and history to our people.
